The Pacific Urban Forum (PUF) is an inclusive multi-stakeholder platform for policy dialogue towards a sustainable urban future for the Pacific region.

Following the adoption of the New Urban Agenda and a renewed recognition of the many opportunities and challenges for the Pacific, the PUF aims to develop action plans, provide recommendations for urbanization strategies and elicit voluntary commitments from different stakeholders in order to successfully anchor the Pacific New Urban Agenda.
Moreover, the forum strengthens the exchange and dialogue within the Pacific among various urban stakeholders such as policy makers from national and local governments, non-governmental and community-based organizations, relevant development partners, academia, private sector, professionals and individuals.
Interested organizations from government, inter-governmental organizations, civil society, private sector and other stakeholder groups are invited to express their interest in organizing side events during the PUF.
Side events should have a theme or purpose that is connected to the Pacific Urban Forum themes.
Day 1 will focus on Urbanization in the Pacific, the Pacific New Urban Agenda, its political and institutional anchoring as well as Governance and Data including urban policies and SDGs.
Day 2 is on Urban Resilience and Climate Change and will provide different approaches for adaptation and development. Furthermore the topics Informal Settlements, Land and Planning will be discussed more in detail. 

Day 3 concentrates on Urban Economic Development including green cities and mobility and takes a look into the future of urbanization in the Pacific Region. 


Side events will have a standard duration of 90 minutes and will take place in the main conference venue. Further logistical details, including time slots and rooms, will be shared with side event focal points at a later date.
The organizer of the side event is responsible for the full cost of the event - AV facilities & venue are provided.
