Melbourne Fringe 2018 Creative Workshops
|
Artists In Public Spaces Workshop: Saturday 21 July, 10am-4pm, Wyndham Cultural Centre (177 Watton St, Werribee)
Participation in the workshop is FREE, however space is strictly limited and provided on a first-response basis.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This workshop focused on building creative confidence, developing artistic identity and having fun. Participants will undertake a journey of moving from artistic principles and philosophies to well supported public outcomes in one day.
Neil Thomas and David Wells have made public performance art for over thirty years, both together and separately. They constantly explore and push the boundaries of what is possible.
This workshop includes practical and collaborative exercises that experiment with visual, physical and aural material. This will be a “hands on” and fun way to approach artistic and performance outcomes in a supported environment.
In David & Neil’s experience, the best and fastest way to develop public performance art is to do it… to this end, as part of the workshop the participants will devise short performance outcomes around Central Werribee.

Artists In Public Spaces is being presented by Neil Thomas and David Wells as part of the 2018 Melbourne Fringe Festival Creative Workshop Series, with the support of Wyndham City Council.
