Information for Prospective Mentors and/or Tutors

When a mentor is matched with a student, the “match meeting” takes place on-campus at the student’s school, during or after school hours. This requirement is in place to ensure that the first meeting is in a safe and familiar surrounding. After the “match meeting," the mentor and mentee will collaborate on future meeting locations and times.

There are many factors that go into selecting and matching mentors with mentees and placing tutors in schools. These factors include, but are not limited to availability, fit, and timing. MTC respectfully reserves the right to decline to accept a mentor or tutor without stating a specific reason.
