Philly's Men Are Cookin' Celebrates the Iconic Film School Daze in November!

Your participation is requested as a Volunteer Chef for our Philly’s Men Are Cookin’ (PMAC) celebration! Inspired by Spike Lee’s iconic film “School Daze” that celebrated a 30-year milestone this year, Philly’s Men Are Cookin’ is adding an Old School twist to this year’s annual event on November 10, 2018, at 7PM at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum located at 6825 Norwich Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

Philly's Men Are Cookin' is sponsored by the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Theta Omega Chapter's non-profit organization, The Ivy Legacy Foundation, which uses proceeds from the annual fundraiser to award college scholarships and fund year-round mentoring programs. This year Rho Theta Omega, like the movie “School Daze,” is also celebrating a 30-year milestone!

All chefs are asked to prepare their favorite dish with enough food to serve sample size portions to 100 people.  As a chef, you have the option to prepare an entrée, appetizer, or dessert. We ask that each chef arrive one hour prior to the start of the event to ensure readiness when guests arrive. Culinary creativity is welcome, but not required.

In the spirit of fun and friendly competition, guests will have the opportunity to vote for the best dish of the evening, and we will announce the winner at the end of the night. We encourage groups of friends and colleagues to register as chefs, and we will work to have your stations next to each other during the event.  Leading up to the event we will host happy hours and a dinner to facilitate networking opportunities for registered chefs.  The cost of the event is complimentary for each chef, and you will have the opportunity to purchase one additional discounted ticket for a guest or assistant chef.

Please complete the survey below to register as a chef for our 2018 event. The survey should not take longer than 4 minutes to complete. Should you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us via email at
