Question Title

* 43. Please read the Attendance Policy below. After you have read it and are sure you can comply with the requirements, type your name in the field provided. This will serve as an electronic signature to signify understanding.

Attendance Policy:
The overall success of the program depends on the attendance of all participants at all sessions. The absence of one person negatively affects the learning experience for everyone else. Therefore we have a strict attendance policy.
  • A typical weekend consists of four segments- two on Friday and two on Saturday.  Three-day weekends consist of six segments.
  • If you miss more than ten segments total- including emergencies- you will be asked to withdraw from the program.
  • No more than three of the ten segments missed may be absences from tours. If you miss more than three tour sessions, you will be asked to withdraw from the program.
  • If you miss half of any segment, it will be considered an absence. Please make sure to allow sufficient time for travel.
  • Participants who are not physically in the classroom during each session will be considered absent.
  • Attendance at the first weekend in its entirety is required; if you miss any part of the opening weekend you will be asked to withdraw from the class.  Applicants who cannot commit to attending all of opening weekend should not apply.
  • Except in the case of emergencies any absence requires approval at least one month prior to the absence; staff reserves the right to deny absence requests to protect the integrity of the program. If you are absent without approval, you will be asked to withdraw from the program.

As a reminder, below are the dates for this year’s program. If you believe you are unable to make this commitment, you should wait and reapply to the Political Leaders Program when your schedule permits full participation.
