The Joint Investment Programme (JIP) is part of the government’s Growth and Innovation Fund and provides the chance for employers in England to invest jointly with the Government for the training that meet specific skills needs and opportunities for business growth and productivity. SkillsActive has been successful in gaining access to £230,000 to match fund with investment from employers to enable 1,000 playwork staff to gain a Level 3 Award in Transition to Playwork (from early years). All sizes of employers are eligible to benefit with funded training available from October 2011 to July 2013.

The purpose of this survey is for employers in the play sector to pledge to match fund training that would benefit their workforce. Employers would need to pledge £229 for each person they would like to register, and this will be matched by the Skills Funding Agency.

If you are interested in accessing support to upskill your employees with this qualification, please complete the survey below stating the number of employees you would like to co-fund for each qualification and during which period you would like the training to take place. Please note that the qualification requires the learner to have already gained a level 3 qualification in early years, e.g. the level 3 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development or Early Years, Care and Education. The Award in Transition to Playwork (from early years) is a short qualification, comprising 2 units, and covers the playwork principles, playwork theories, and playwork approach to work with children and young people
