Purpose of planning grants - PROPOSALS ARE DUE NOVEMBER 1

DMHA and ICAN are providing  smaller targeted planning grants to support wellness and mental health during the pandemic. The virus has dictated much of when and how schools should return, isolate, virtually teach or how students spend their time. ICAN is concerned with the mental health of our campus communities. It is natural during a crisis for students to feel depressed, disconnected and at times frustrated with the lack of personal control in a situation.

We invite you to think about using this planning grant to evaluate how your college or university is identifying, responding to, and planning for the needs of students now and in the future. The results of your findings should be part of your larger plan.
Get input from students about what they think they need in order to take back control of their lives and feel whole. Utilize prevention science and the safest recommendations to develop a plan that helps  students, families, and faculty to find their new normal.  Use these funds to conduct a real needs assessment and to think about how programs and services could be changed to better meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff.  Grants will range in amounts from $3,000-$6,000 based on number of applications.

Funds must be spent by June 30, 2021
