Pedal for Scotland, organised by Cycling Scotland, is Scotland’s biggest bike event. Back in 1999, the first event attracted 400 riders. The event has grown increasingly popular with more routes, bigger challenges and more and more participants joining in year on year.

In 2014, on our 16th anniversary, over 10,500 riders took part over 6 rides across Scotland. Event participants helped raise over £110,000 for the STV Children’s Appeal.
In 2015 Pedal for Scotland is set to return on 5th, 6th and 13th September with six rides to choose from catering for all ages and abilities.

Cycling Scotland will be seeking to appoint a contractor(s) to provide support services and supplies in delivery of Pedal for Scotland rides in future years (potentially up to 3 years, subject to funding). The support service and supplies areas could include:

• Overall Event Organisation and Management
• Event Health and Safety Management and Risk Assessments
• Route Management
• Venue Management
• Traffic Management
• Stewarding / Marshalling
• Volunteer Recruitment and Management
• Sustainable Procurement
• Customer Service Systems and Management
• Mailing fulfilment
• Event Supplies, e.g., marquees, pa/av/staging, generators, water bowsers/tankers, tracking, radio/communications, toilets, fencing/barriers, waste/litter clearance, cycling event chip timing, etc.
• Catering suppliers
• Rider Transport e.g., buses and trucks

This notice is not an invitation to tender and should not be considered as such. Any interest and information submitted via the survey form will be used for market research only. Should a tendering opportunity arise for one or more of the above noted support service and supplies areas, the process will be open to all organisations whether they have submitted a response to this notice or not.

Responses to this notice are invited by 12 noon on Wednesday, 16 September.
