Considering the option to carry or employ any aerosol defense spray (pepper spray)?

The Basics of Pepper Spray Defense workshop covers a basic understanding of the legislative intent, criminal and civil liabilities, moral principles regulating citizens’ possession and use of aerosol defense sprays; the chemical and mechanical properties; psychological and physiological effects; principles of aerosol defense first aid and decontamination and the principles for maintaining, storing and disposing of spray canisters.

Participants are also given the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to accurately use the device by means of an inert training spray and target.

You will have the option to purchase a 1/2 ounce canister of pepper spray at the conclusion of the class for $6.00.

Department of Police Services, at the corner of Darby Avenue & Prairie Street. Street address is 9222 Darby Avenue, Northridge, 91325.

Parking:
Permits are required on campus at all times. If you have a current CSUN student or staff permit, lot B3 and B4 are closest to DPS. Day permits can be purchased for $6.00 at any campus information booth or ticket dispenser machine. Off campus street parking may be available and is regulated by posted city signs.
