Watford People's Panel |
Welcome to Watford's People Panel
An introduction from Peter Taylor, Elected Mayor of Watford
I am committed to making Watford a vibrant, caring and successful place to live, work and start a business.
I can only do that by working with residents on our priorities. That’s one reason why it’s essential that the council listens to you and that we work together to continually improve Watford.
In recent years, the council has faced big challenges including cuts to our budget from central government, the pandemic, and now the cost-of-living crisis which is increasing demand for services at a time when inflation and high interest rates make it more difficult for the council to act.
As we face these challenges and opportunities ahead of us, l want to make sure that the voice of residents is heard. That is why we are expanding our People’s Panel, a group of residents like you who are willing to give up their time to support the area where they live or work.
With changes happening in local government in Watford and beyond, it’s more important than ever for residents to have a say in the decisions that affect them and their local areas.
If you decide to get involved, I hope you’ll be ready to engage fully with the programme to achieve the best possible results. From my experience as both a councillor and Mayor, I know that Watford has plenty of residents who are eager to contribute and make a difference.
You do not need to have specific experiences or qualifications to be selected. We want a diverse group of people from across our community. All we are looking for is the desire to help your community navigate the opportunities and new challenges ahead.
I hope you will consider joining our people's panel and I look forward to working with you.
Best wishes
