PEERS #10: Coordinating a Network for Infectious Disease Surveillance and Research in USSOUTHCOM: RAIMUS

Join us for PEERS #10 featuring RAIMUS (Red Americana de Investigación y Monitoreo - UnaSalud), a multidisciplinary network established by the US Naval Medical Research Unit South (NAMRU SOUTH), the Gorgas Memorial Institute, and George Washington University to address the rising threat of zoonotic diseases in South and Central America. By integrating human, animal, and environmental sciences under the One Health framework, the initiative aims to harmonize infectious disease surveillance and strengthen early detection capabilities across the region.

Participants will learn how the network leverages stakeholder engagement and data sharing to overcome the challenges of migration, climate change, and geopolitical conflict on global health. The session will also highlight how this collaborative model can be applied to broader public health challenges to improve regional biosecurity and pandemic preparedness.

When: Wednesday, 18 February 2026 | 1200-1300 EST
Where: Virtual via MS Teams
