Marion County will be developing Parkdale Park in 2024, a 6.5-acre neighborhood park in the unincorporated area of East Salem off Hayesville Drive.

The area is currently a passive open space with a wetland mitigation site and some stormwater infrastructure.

The new park is intended to be a neighborhood-use park and will provide more access to outdoor green space, improve stormwater infrastructure, and increase educational opportunities for children to learn about wetlands and nature through interactive play and interpretive features.

New amenities could include
ADA accessible pathways, a fenced dog park, a wetland-themed nature play area, and a wetland interpretive walkway. Additionally, the existing 0.35-acre wetland will be expanded, increasing natural stormwater retention in a flood-prone area of East Salem.

Your input on this park development will be provided to the County and its project landscape architect to assist in deciding how ultimately to proceed with this project.

The anonymous survey should take just two minutes of your time, but is extremely valuable.
