St. Louise Parent's Club Survey - Parent Education 2022-2023

Each year one way the Parent's Club uses its fundraiser revenue is to secure a parent-education specialist(s) to present to our school community over several evenings. We would like to hear your preference for which topic and/or speaker you are most interested in for St. Louise’s 2022-2023 school year.

An in-person workshop with a licensed therapist, Melissa Benaroya, on "Fostering a Growth Mindset: Unlocking Your Child’s Full Potential." This workshop will cover how we can model a growth mindset for our children, help them persist in the face of obstacles, and learn to embrace failures as valuable opportunities for learning.

An in-person workshop with a licensed therapist, Melissa Benaroya, on "Emotional Coaching." This workshop will help parents guide their children through life's ups and downs in a way that builds confidence, resilience and strong relationships.

An in-person workshop with a licensed therapist, Melissa Benaroya, on "Discipline: Building Your Parenting Toolbox." This workshop offers parenting strategies that result in children who want to be in partnership with their parents.

An in-person workshop with Maritere Bellas on "Raising Bicultural, Multicultural Children." This workshop explores the stages of immigrant adjustment, how to find a balance, where parenting and culture collide, perils and triumphs of raising bilingual children and the influence of multicultural literature in the positive self-image of youth and children.

An in-person workshop with author Ingrid Ricks "Fostering Healing, Awareness, Empathy and Change Through the Power of Personal Storytelling" - Using interactive exercises, this best-selling author will help you rewrite the negative stories you tell yourself, strip fear of it's power, and turn your adversity into an asset."

An in-person, inspirational evening with Chris Singleton, a former minor league baseball player drafted by the Chicago Cubs. He became a nationally-renowned speaker with a message of resilience, forgiveness and unity following the loss of his mother in the 2015 Mother Emanuel Church Tragedy in Charleston, SC.

A virtual, small group workshop, with Christina Valenzuela, for moms and their daughters designed to introduce girls to menstrual cycles and periods in a positive, adult supported environment through age-appropriate science, hands-on learning, and honest conversations about what to expect (or not expect!) as they begin their cycles.
