Teacher Interest Form for 2020-2021 Courses

The One Schoolhouse community is focused on creating the best opportunities possible for students and teachers.  We love to work with teachers who have an exceptionally positive outlook, strive always to see the best in every situation, and have a growth mindset.

One Schoolhouse is seeking teachers from all disciplines for the opportunity to teach exceptional online student courses.

One Schoolhouse seeks teachers with a growth mindset to teach courses that are personalized and interactive.  To learn more about our beliefs about teaching and learning, read our pedagogy white paper or check out our learning innovation blog.

One Schoolhouse believes that great online classrooms include strong relationships between students and their teachers, and students with each other. Teachers spend time each day during the schoolyear (see calendar here) moderating discussions, answering questions, and adjusting assignments. Teachers have a 24-hour turnaround time for responding to students and a 5-day feedback window.

One Schoolhouse courses are refreshed and fully built out by the teachers during the summer before school opens, to make sure that teachers time is spent interacting, engaging, and supporting students.

Our teacher hiring process has multiple parts:
1/31/20 – teacher interest form and resume due
2/7/20 – prospective teachers notified via email whether they are invited to interview
2/10/20 – 2/28/20 – prospective teacher online interview process, including live video interview with Assistant Head of School for finalists
3/13/20 – accepted teachers notified of their placement on a conditional list, awaiting spring enrollment numbers and current teacher capacity
3/30/20 – 4/28/20 – new teacher online training course
6/1/20 – 8/1/20 – course development and refresh

Teachers are compensated by One Schoolhouse for creating, refreshing and/or teaching their course(s).  Teacher salaries are set by the Board of Trustees.  Practices and policies, including our Non-Discrimination Policy, are covered in the online interview process.
