Lake County Division of Transportation Ordinance Review Public Open House Meeting – Survey

Lake County Division of Transportation, in conjunction with other County departments, is conducting a review and update of our current access ordinances and permitting process. It is our plan to update the ordinance where needed to make the process easy to follow and customer friendly. Please help us better understand your needs and share your ideas on what we can improve.

Minor access (less than 50 trips through the access per day or no regular use of three axle vehicles)

Major access (more than 50 trips per day or regular use by three axle vehicles)

Designated freeway access (access to County’s two freeways – Washington Street (CH45) from US41 to IL21 or Peterson (CH20) from US45 to IL60)

Conditional Access – an access location permitted for six months, includes construction access and special events

Temporary access – an access location for a specific time with restrictions
