About the Initiative for Open Ag Funding and this survey

The Initiative for Open Ag Funding supports efforts to end hunger and food insecurity by ensuring organizations have the information they need to make smarter investments in the agriculture and food security sector. While organizations need various types of data to make better decisions, this initiative is focused on improving the quality, availability and timeliness of data concerning investments — in other words, data that seek to answer who is doing what, where, with whom, and to what effect.

Over the last several months, we have looked at what data is available and spoken to donors, foundations and NGOs about what data they need to make better decisions about whom to partner with, where to direct resources, what to focus on, etc. We now have a draft set of recommendations about what data organizations should make available about their activities in the agriculture and food security sector and are looking for feedback from the community to make sure we've gotten these right. For those interested, our proposals are available in full here.

Our goal is to end up with something that meets real needs of real users yet is still feasible - and therefore sustainable - to implement. That is why we are seeking feedback from both data users and data publishers. The following survey should take between 15 and 20 minutes to complete. We thank you for your help in strengthening our proposal!
