This project is part of the NY Slavery Records Index, which is a searchable compilation of records, from New York State, that identify individual enslaved persons and their owners.

This part of the NY Slavery Records Index project seeks to associate the owners and enslaved persons with buildings that exist today. This survey is treated by our project team as a recommendation which we then validate and verify based on our records before we add any property to the database.
