Backup Generator Current Information

In accordance with New York State law, emergency backup generators, associated UPS systems and all other peripheral apparatus (steel structures, piping, etc.) are considered real property.  In order to properly assess your generator for property tax purposes, we need you to answer questions about the generator, its location and ownership.  The questionnaire must be completed by May 31, 2019.
Please note:

  1. Include information on each emergency backup generator that you own at this location.  To do so, simply complete the survey once for each generator, using the appropriate DEP Permit number.
  2. If you do not have information requested in the questionnaire, please write “Unavailable” in that section.
  3. The Department of Finance REUC Unit may contact you in the near future to schedule an inspection of the emergency backup generator.
  4. Questions with asterisks (*) are required and must be completed in order to continue to the next page.

If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Finance REUC Unit.

Thank you for your cooperation.
