Welcome! We are excited that you are interested in being involved with Art Feeds NWA!
This volunteer opportunity is in school during the school day at a local NW Arkansas elementary school. The commitment will begin the first full week of April and run 4 weeks following the start date. Opportunities will be on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday from 8am-2pm. There will be several opportunities on multiple days each week. Once an educator decides on a day and time each week to volunteer, that educator is expected to volunteer the same day and time each week for the 4 weeks (i.e every Tuesday 8:00 am- 10:00 am). Mural curriculum is the track of our programming where every student in the school participates in a lesson once per week to design a mural from start to finish. The mural will be completely student inspired and available for the community to see when placed in Downtown Fayetteville, AR. To become a volunteer educator and be involved in this process you must:
+Have either 500 hours of work/volunteer with children and/or 30+ hours of college credit (or some combination of the two)
+Pass a background check and drug test
+Be available to volunteer for a consistent 2-8 hour commitment (depending on what your schedule allows)
+Attend a 3 hour training session conducted by Art Feeds National (date TBD)
Before entering the classroom, all volunteer educators are trained on the Art Feeds Method and on how to implement the mural curriculum. Please answer all questions honestly. Art Feeds is interested in who you are and how your talents can serve the students of NWA! Only passionate, creative, hardworking individuals need complete the application. Thank you for looking to be a part of the Art Feeds Family!
