Welcome! We are excited that you are interested in being involved with Art Feeds NWA!
This volunteer opportunity is in school during the school day at a local NW Arkansas elementary school or in after school programming in partnership with Camp War Eagle. The commitment will begin in February. There are several volunteer lengths and throughout the spring that last 4-12 weeks. You will be placed at the school or children's organization that best fits your schedule. There will be several opportunities on multiple days each week, when you share your availability we will match you up with an existing school and schedule. Once an educator decides on a day and time each week to volunteer, that educator is expected to volunteer the same day and time each week for the duration of the programming in the fall semester (i.e every Tuesday 8:00 am- 10:00 am). To become a volunteer educator and be involved in this process you must:
+Have either 500 hours of work/volunteer with children and/or 30+ hours of college credit (or some combination of the two)
+Pass a background check and drug test
+Be available to volunteer for a consistent 2-8 hour commitment (depending on what your schedule allows)
+Attend a 3 hour training session conducted by Art Feeds National (date TBD)
