State Agency National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) Implementation Plan

On behalf of the state agency listed below, I am submitting our National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) Implementation Plan for review and compliance purposes.

As a state agency voter registration coordinator, I acknowledge that the Texas Election Code (TEC) designates my state agency as a voter registration agency. Pursuant to Section 20.001(a) of the TEC, the following agencies are designated as voter registration agencies:
  • Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC);
  • Texas Workforce Commission (TWC);
  • Department of Public Safety;
  • Each public library, including any branch or other service outlet; and
  • Any other agency or program as determined by the secretary of state that primarily provides public assistance or services to persons with disabilities.
As a state agency, we understand the responsibilities under the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 and affirm its commitment to ensuring eligible patrons are provided voter registration opportunities in accordance with federal and state law. Our implementation plan outlines our policies and practices related to voter registration services.
