The North Wales Borough Streetscape Plan project was identified as a top priority for the community through the public outreach conducted during the development of North Wales Borough 2040, the Borough's comprehensive plan. A recent five-year review of the plan reaffirmed that this initiative remains a high priority for the community. The project is being led by the Borough Planning Commission with support from the Montgomery County Planning Commission.
This project focuses on identifying future improvements to enhance the look, feel, and function of “downtown” North Wales — Main Street (Beaver Street to the railroad tracks), Walnut Street (Main Street to Beaver Street), and the area surrounding the train station. The report will examine how streets, sidewalks, buildings, and public spaces work together to establish an environment that is safe, appealing, and inviting.
