The NH Department of Health and Human Services is holding 12 information sessions statewide regarding the upcoming implementation of the NH Health Protection Program.
With recent changes in state law, new options for health coverage are now available at little or no cost to those that qualify. The information meetings will cover important information and answer questions about the new health insurance program.
The NH Health Protection Program has two coverage options. The Health Insurance Premium Payment Program (HIPP) will help to cover insurance costs for someone if they or a member of their family have access to health insurance through an employer. The Bridge Program is for those that don’t have access to health insurance through an employer, or if they do not qualify for the HIPP Program.
Potential applicants will need to be between 19 and 65-years old. To qualify, a household of one would have a monthly income of $1,294 or below. A household of two, $1,744 or below, a household of three, $2,194 or below, or a household of four with a monthly income of $2,644 or below.
Those who think they may be eligible (or their familiy members or care givers) and human service agency service coordinators who work with potentially eligible individuals are encouraged to attend. Others are welcome to attend if they are interested.
Meeting topics will include basic information about:
• When the new programs will start
• How people can apply
• The difference between the two programs
• How the new health insurance programs will work.
All of the 12 sessions will cover the same information, so people need to attend only one.
This is an information meeting only. It is not for people to apply.
