Purpose
The purpose of this survey is to gather information from educators that informs the design of science interim assessments aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) that support student learning.
Survey
A group of science educators and assessment experts are collaborating to design interim assessments aligned to the OpenSciEd curriculum in Grades 6-8. Each interim assessment would be administered at different points in the school year and would assess what students have learned up to that point following the OpenSciEd sequence. As an example, in each grade there may be an interim assessment for each quarter of the year, such that the first interim would assess what is taught in the first quarter of the year, the 2nd interim would primarily assess what is taught in the 2nd quarter of the year with a potential to spiral back to quarter 1 material, etc. The purpose of the interims is to gauge student progress and inform curriculum and instructional planning for the current and future school years. To help inform the design of the interims, please respond to the following questions. Note that each question includes an open response box if you wish to share thoughts and/or explain your response.

Question Title

* 1. There are 6 units in each grade of the OpenSciEd curriculum. How many interim assessments would you want for each grade?

Question Title

* 2. Would you prefer assessments that can be administered via computer or paper/pencil? We understand that you may find both to be optimal, but we are asking for a preference.
