Welcome to The National Foundation for the Deaf's 'Captions On Please' Petition

Without captions, New Zealand’s television shows are inaccessible to people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Currently, around 880,000 New Zealanders who are deaf or hard of hearing must rely on the goodwill of NZ On Air to voluntary fund captioning. This has meant that only around 31% of Free to Air New Zealand Television shows are being captioned. This is simply not good enough!

The National Foundation for the Deaf believes that every New Zealander has the right to enjoy all our local shows and we are working hard to make this a reality.

By filling out this survey your name will be added to our "Captions On Please" petition.

Thank you for pledging your support and for helping us to make a positive change.
