This year, Bliss, the special care baby charity, is conducting research to build a picture of neonatal care across the UK and understand what issues and pressures services are facing. This will help us to develop a strong evidence base for our work to improve the care given to all babies born premature or sick.

We want to make sure that parent voices are a strong part of this work. As such we want to hear from parents who have experienced any of the following issues:

- High and low staffing levels on the neonatal unit (both doctors and nurses)
- Support from other health professionals such as occupational therapists, dieticians or physiotherapists (or wanting their support if you did not have access to them)
- Transport services
- Accessing psychological support on the unit
- Community support following your baby’s discharge from hospital.

We want to know about any positive or negative experiences you have of any of these areas. We will only use responses anonymously unless you tell us that it is okay to identify you.

We are also surveying neonatal units for current facts and figures about these issues, so this survey is designed to capture parents’ views and experiences.

Thank you for taking the time to help us with this research.
