September 30th, 2017 - 9am to Noon - East Valley Heights Neighborhood - Redmond, WA

King Conservation District (KCD) is partnering with the City of Redmond and Forterra in the development of a neighborhood stewardship program focused on maintaining natural areas adjacent to residential areas. This program will train Neighborhood Stewards in restoration practices and volunteer management, and support on-the-ground restoration events. This pilot Neighborhood Steward Program will focus on working in natural areas located within two Redmond neighborhoods: East valley Heights and Monticello Estates.

Come to our Neighborhood Steward orientation to learn how to get involved in this new program. We will be discussing the importance of our forests while training neighbors of these natural areas to help steward the land by removing invasive plants and planting native trees and shrubs in order to restore the health of these forests! You will learn best management practices when it comes to habitat restoration, along with diving into the importance of community engagement and managing volunteers. All are welcome to attend, so we hope to see you there!

Please sign up below so we know to expect you!
