NEF Mini-Grant Application Process

MINI-GRANT
Purpose and Funding Scope:

The Natick Education Foundation's purpose is to support our teachers, staff, and students with resources that are not funded through ordinary budgetary channels as well as to encourage programs that enhance and enrich the curriculum. Grant recipients may be asked to share the results of their project with NEF through occasional surveys, demonstrations and/or presentations.

Unlike prior years, the 2017-2018 mini-grants will only be awarded to the middle and high school levels as NEF has already funded a large elementary school initiative for this year (supporting STEM professional development in all 5 elementary schools). NEF will fund up to $10,000 in mini-grants this year! Grants will be accepted on a rolling basis and will be evaluated on the 1st of every month. For example, if you submit a proposal on Sept. 15th, your application will be reviewed starting October 1st. You will be notified on the status of your application by the end of October, if not sooner.

About the NEF Selection Process for Mini-Grants:
  • Individual mini-grant requests can not exceed $500.
  • Mini-grants will only be awarded at the middle and high school levels.
  • Mini-grants are reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • Once the $10,000 limit is reached, no other applications will be accepted.
  • NEF mini-grants must be academic or otherwise in support of student growth and learning.
  • In general, NEF does not fund consultants or visiting artists/performers unless the direct and on-going benefit to Natick students is great in relation to his or her compensation.
  • In general, NEF does support teachers receiving professional development that will be spread to other teachers at their grade level or subject area. Our goal is to have successful projects disseminated widely across the districts, touching as many schools, teachers, and students as possible.

For health-related projects, please visit the MetroWest Community Healthcare Foundation first.

Funding is generated through individual and corporate donations to Natick Education Foundation, Teacher Tributes, and other NEF fund-raising events.

Please email NEFgrants@gmail.com with any questions regarding your proposal.
