Peer Coach Commitment
Your submission of this request to be a peer coach acknowledges, if selected, your commitment to fulfilling the expectations and obligations that filling this role entails. This commitment includes but is not limited to getting to know all members of the cohort, being available and fully present at all functions of the NECLP residencies, being engaged and sharing your thoughts/suggestions/concerns with the staff and helping the staff in numerous ways. Around and between residencies you will offer support and advice to your peer group as well as participate in a minimum of once-a-month peer group calls, regular peer coach calls, and possible collective opportunities (prework, webinars, and coach/ staff calls, etc.). Prior to the first residency there will be required virtual peer coach training, and a virtual cohort-wide welcome and orientation.
To help support the safety and well-being of the cohort, peer coaches should complete mental health first aid training (can be done virtually). You can find a free course or one that is $50 or less https://mentalhealthfirstaid.org/. NECLP will reimburse you for the cost.
The first residency is in-person August 16-22, 2026, at the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) in Shepherdstown, WV. The second residency is virtual November 17-18, 2026, 10am-2pm EST. The third residency is in-person February 1-5*, 2027, at Hudson Farm, NJ. (*Travel days M&F, Program Tue-Th)
FAQ: Who pays for what? Travel can either be in-kind support (covered by the peer coach or peer coaches’ organization), or the NECLP will reimburse for travel. Lodging and meals at both in-person residencies are covered completely by the NECLP. There is no compensation by the NECLP for your time.
