The CCNY-MSKCC Partnership program is offering research opportunities for undergraduate students. We especially encourage underrepresented minority students to apply. Deadline to submit all the paper work is January 1st, 2013!


CCNY-MSKCC Partnership Program offers the COURT program for undergraduate students. The primary goals of our program are to implement joint education and training opportunities between CCNY and MSKCC in order to attract minority students at all levels in their academic careers to be engaged in cancer research, and to support their career development. We prepare our trainees for laboratory positions and for graduate work. Trainees compete for a summer research placement based on their academic performance and recommendation letters. The program also offers a year long series of seminars in which invited speakers from various institutions discuss various aspects of career development and research opportunities for trainees entering doctoral programs. Trainees are required to take a course on ethics in biomedicine and research. Trainees are required to present their work at national and local meetings.

There are several different research tracks:

1. Continuum of Undergraduate Research Training (COURT)

The primary goals of COURT program is to implement joint education and training opportunities between CCNY and MSKCC to attract undergraduate students at all levels in their careers in cancer research, and to support their career development. 2. Summer Clinical Oncology Research Experience (SCORE)

The Summer Clinical Oncology Research Experience (SCORE) is an eight-week program offered to women undergraduates and post-baccalaureate students at CCNY. Supported by the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) Office of Faculty Development and the CCNY-MSKCC Partnership. The goal of the program is to encourage the participation of women in cancer research. We encourage underrepresented minority students to apply. FRESHMEN ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!

3. Research Training Program in Molecular Imaging, Nanotechnology (ET-CURE)

Research Training Program in Molecular Imaging, Nanotechnology (ET-CURE) is for minority undergraduate juniors, seniors and Sophie Davis 2nd,3rd, and 4th year students for one year. Students will be trained in the Department of Radiology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC).

All students regardless of track will be provided a research stipend and opportunity to attend a scientific conference and must fulfill program requirements, which are delineated on application website.



****Students MUST be USA Citizens or Permanent Residents in order to receive funding.

****Students are not eligible, if he/she is receiving funding from any other research Federal grant.

****Students are not eligible, if he/she is graduating senior or alumni.
