A team of Cornell Cooperative Extension specialists and industry experts (the team), in partnership with Empire State Development (ESD), is conducting a food system assessment of the Mohawk Valley Region with the help of New Venture Advisors, a new business advisory firm specializing in food and agriculture.
The primary goals of this research are to assess current food production in the region, challenges that producers face in sustaining and growing their business, and identify services that would be of value to producers in and around the Mohawk Valley Region.
The research will inform the development of enterprises to be developed throughout the region that will better connect agricultural producers with buyers who are looking for more local food products.
