Thank you for choosing to submit your short film for the 2020 Mocktail Award! We wish you the best of luck.

Before submitting please make sure your film adheres to the following criteria:

- The final submitted version is to be ideally UPLOADED TO VIMEO.
Note: Vimeo allows for high quality files to be uploaded then downloaded on our end, so if your film gets nominated, it will look great on the big screen!

- When exporting your video from your editing program, make sure it is HIGH RES 1920 x 1080 and it is at 25 fps (frames per second).

- The 2020 Mocktail Award is open to all New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland based high school students who have completed a short film.​

- Films submitted can be up to 8 minutes in length.

- Genre includes short fiction, short documentary, short animation, television commercial or music video.

- The judges are looking for: originality, emotional impact, performance, direction and low budget initiative.

Submissions close 5:00pm, 10th May 2020.

Films must have been completed between 1st January 2019 and 10th May 2020.

Selected Mocktail films will be regarded as nominees for our Mocktail award, to be announced and presented at JMC Academy’s - The Martini Film Awards to be held in 2020.

We will notify successful entrants who have been selected as nominees, including screening details and provision of film formats. All nominees will receive 4 complimentary tickets to this event.

2020 Mocktails Terms and Conditions

This competition is run in New South Wales, ACT, Victoria and Queensland by JMC Academy.

This competition is open to all students studying in New South Wales, ACT, Victoria and Queensland. To enter this competition, entrants must complete a short film under 8 minutes and online submission form. Submissions will close on the Sunday 10th May 2020. Entry to this competition is free of charge.

A winning film will be selected from each state (New South Wales & ACT, Victoria and Queensland).

The winning film will receive over $2,500 worth of prizes. Details of the winner will be displayed on www.jmcacademy.edu.au. The winner will be selected by a panel of industry professional judges arranged by the organisers of the 2020 Martini Awards. The winner will be notified within 24 hours by phone. Information collected will be used in strict adherence to the principles outlined in Australia’s privacy legislation (2001). Your details will be used for ongoing communications from JMC Academy. Entrant details will not be provided to any third party.

Films submitted for the Mocktail award may be used by JMC to create promotional material for the Martini Awards and/or future Mocktail Award Competitions.
