The purpose of this questionnaire is to collect important information from our parents to help us plan for the best possible school opening for all students following the closing of all schools in Hawaii because of Covid-19.

Question Title

* 1. In a recent survey of parents by the Hawaii Department of Education, 86% of parents statewide indicated that they prefer that their child(ren) return to face to face teaching and learning when the new school year begins, and 14% of parents indicated that they prefer that their children remain at home and participate in distance learning because of Covid-19. 

For the school year 2020-21, Moanalua Elementary School will implement a hybrid school model that aligns with the BOE Reopening Resolution, DOE Reopening Guidelines, and DOH's Health and Safety Guidelines. For details, please refer to the parent letter dated July 13, 2020, posted on the school website.

Students in PreK-2 will attend school in person (face to face) 5 days a week. Full days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and half-day on Wednesday.

Students in Gr 3-6 will attend school in person (face to face) 2 days a week and engage in distance learning 3 days a week. Group A will attend on Monday, Thursday and Group B will attend on Tuesday, Friday. Wednesday will be distance learning.

Vulnerable learners (Special Education, English Language Learners) in ALL grades will attend school in person (face to face) 5 days a week. Full days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and half-day on Wednesday.
