Introduction
Conceptual development plans (CDPs) guide the future use and development at each state park and historic site. CDPs support the mission, purpose and direction of each facility. These long-range plans outline area use, site goals, development objectives, research needs and project phasing while taking into consideration the significant natural, cultural and recreational resources of the park or site. This survey is part of the division’s ongoing effort to ensure that the public has input on state park and historic site development.
Site Mission
The mission of Missouri Mines State Historic Site is to preserve and interpret the surviving cultural landmarks, artifacts and remnants of the Old Lead Belt, with special emphasis on St. Joseph Lead Co., while providing outstanding recreational opportunities compatible with those resources.
