Why this survey?

We are a non-partisan, grassroots group of mental health advocates from NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and MHA (Mental Health America) seeking feedback from Florida residents on their access to mental health and substance abuse care through their insurance plans.

Many Floridians receive no or insufficient mental or substance use care because their insurance plans offer fewer, or more expensive, benefits for mental health/substance use treatment than for all other kinds of health care. This is illegal under federal law but our state insurance regulators are not currently enforcing federal law because they believe that this is not happening in Florida!

Please assist us in persuading our insurance regulators that they are wrong! If you or your loved one has sought treatment for either/both mental health or substance use treatment, please let your regulators know by completing the following survey.
NOTE: You can answer the questions as related to your own insurance plan or to that of a loved one for whom you are a caregiver. To do both, please click on the link at the end of the survey to complete a second separate survey.
