2027 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The MHCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the betterment of the HVAC industry. It believes the path to that end is through education and a commitment to continued learning. The MHCA's mission is to support the elevation of our industry standards to ensure the utmost quality and value for our customers, our environment, and our employees.

We are pleased to invite interested individuals who are seeking a career in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) field to apply for a MHCA scholarship. A minimum of one $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded, though typically multiple scholarships are available each year, some for higher amounts.

To be considered for a scholarship, an individual must:
  1. Be enrolled at an accredited technical program related to the HVAC field for the semester the scholarship is awarded. E.G., You must be enrolled for courses in Fall 2027.
  2. Complete the Personal Information section below.
  3. Compile the required Scholarship Packet as described on the following page.
  4. Email or mail your Scholarship Packet to the address on the following page.

Scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant letter, application quality, scholastic excellence, community service and activities, and letters of recommendation.
Instructions for Submitting Scholarship Packet

1. PERSONAL LETTER FROM APPLICANT*
Write a letter directed to the MHCA Scholarship Committee telling us about your career and educational goals, how you intend to reach those goals, the qualities you have developed that will help you succeed in obtaining your goals, and why you interested in the HVAC field.
* Caution: Do NOT use AI to prepare your response.

2. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Provide two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, volunteer leaders, work supervisors, or an influential person in your life, who can describe your abilities and potential to succeed as you pursue a career in a HVAC field. If applicable, the letters should include reference to your mechanical aptitude.

3. ACTIVITY SHEET
List the activities and community service that you are currently, or have been involved in.

4. HIGH SCHOOL / TECHNICAL SCHOOL OR EQUIVALENT TRANSCRIPT
Include the most recent copy of your transcript.

SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION
Please compile the following information and submit by the stated deadline:
  1. Completed Scholarship Application Form
  2. Personal letter from applicant
  3. Two letters of recommendation
  4. Activity Sheet
  5. Transcript

SELECTION PROCESS
Winners will be announced Spring 2027 and will be asked to provide payment information about their designated school. Winners agree to provide a photo (headshot) and allow the MHCA to use their name, image, and choice of school in any promotion of the award.
