This survey aims at mapping initiatives taken in the European audiovisual sector to promote gender equality and diversity on screen and in the workplace. It will be followed up by phone interviews and study visits in 5 to 6 European countries.

On the basis of the outcomes of the mapping exercise a handbook will be produced in 2019.

This survey is being carried out in the context of a European project co-funded by the European Commission and implemented in partnership by nine organisations:
- the Association of Commercial Television in Europe (ACT);
- the Association of European Radios (AER);
- the European Broadcasting Union (EBU);
- the European Coordination of Independent Producers (CEPI);
- the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ);
- the International Federation of Actors (FIA);
- the International Federation of Film Producers Association (FIAPF);
- the International Federation of Musicians (FIM);
- and UNI Europa – Media, Entertainment & Arts (EURO-MEI).
