High School and Community College Level Teachers and Pre-service Teachers
Must have access to a Gmail account
Ability to use Google drive
A basic level of computer literacy is expected.

For those wishing to receive graduate credit: If you have never taken a course with PSU in the past and are not admitted you will be assessed a $35 fee.

Graduate Credit and PDUs:
Participants may choose to receive either sixty Professional Development Units (PDUs) or three free graduate credits (in their choice of geography or curriculum and instruction) upon completing the institute and meeting its requirements. Registration will be processed through Center for Geography Education in Oregon.
Program Description:
This exciting summer institute focuses on learning to apply Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geospatial Technologies in the classroom. It is designed for High School or Community College educators interested in learning more about mapping, GIS, and Geospatial Technologies and how they can be leveraged in the classroom across multiple disciplines.

Storytelling with maps
Building interactive web maps
Intro to drone mapping
Mapping cultural & natural landscapes
