The effect of anxiety on musical performance and its moderation by various techniques

Thank you for considering taking part in our research. This survey is part of a collaborative research project between the Royal Northern College of Music and the School of Psychological Sciences at the University of Manchester. The study investigates techniques used to manage music performance anxiety. You will be asked about the instrument(s) you play and your solo and group performance, whether you experience performance anxiety in these performances, how you feel that this effects your performance, and how you manage this. You will also be asked questions relating to any use and perception of use of beta blockers in the music profession. Musicians of any background / style / level are all welcome to participate, and the survey should take 10-20 minutes to complete. The questionnaire is anonymous and identifying details are not linked to the responses. Your responses will be stored confidentially and securely.
