How Do We Make the Do-Dah Parade Better?

We need your help to improve Do-Dah Parade for 2027. The parade has been a tradition in Kalamazoo since 1984, but times change, people get busy, and forget that a parade is a great way to create something fun for the community. It’s also a great opportunity to promote your business or organization as one that supports the community. Now, Do-Dah is a bit quirky. You don’t have to follow all the design rules like the Kalamazoo Holiday Parade, but you do have to be entertaining. And, June is a busy month. So, help us figure out how to make it better.

Complete this quick survey and if you still have ideas as to how we can make it better, email us at deb@eventkalamazoo.com. We are going to take the ideas that everyone provides and the recommendations and we are going to submit a report to the leadership team at Downtown Kalamazoo (DEGA Group) and tell them what we have planned for 2027. You see, they provided us with a grant to help pay for the parade so that we could afford to host the parade. In 2025, we found that the expenses were just too much to do the parade without a little financial help. This grant is important and we hope that if we can continue to improve the parade, people and organizations will support it.

In the spirit of Do-Dah, we are going to create a little video to show how we took your ideas and have a plan for the 2027 Do-Dah parade. So, tell us what you think.
1.How did you participate in Do-Dah Parade this year:
2.What is the best part of the Do-Dah Parade?
3.What is the most frustrating part of the Do-Dah Parade?
4.Each year the parade comes up with a theme to help parade units decorate because sometimes creating a parody can be challenging. What are your recommendations?
5.If there was something you could improve about Do-Dah Parade, what would it be?
Thank you for your willingness to help us with the Do-Dah Parade. Here is some anonymous questions that will help us understand where you live and how you are connected to our community:
6.How many years have you been coming to Do-Dah?
7.How many people attended in your group?
8.What is your zip code?
