The Livingston County Board of Supervisors and the Livingston County IDA are conducting a study to explore the feasibility of a regional small grains center in western New York.  This study emerged from a 2015 study titled ‘Meeting the Demand for Small Grains in New York State’, commissioned by Empire State Development, which illustrated the unprecedented growth in the Craft Brewery Industry, fostered by the passage of the Farm Brewery and Farm Distillery legislation and renewed interest and growth in the historic industry of baking.

Please complete this Small Grains Buyer survey, which is a critical component of this study. Your responses will enable us to (1) assess market demand for local small grains among microbrewers, micro distillers, bakers, retailers, as well as mills and malt houses, and (2) understand what services a small grains center should offer.

If you have any questions about this study, the survey or want to provide more information, please contact David Paoletta at DPaoletta@co.livingston.ny.us.

Please skip any questions that you are unable to respond to or that do not apply to your company.

Thank you so much for your time and input! Please forward this survey to any other small grains buyers you think may be interested in sourcing from a small grains center in western New York.
