Introduction

Samaritans are committed to working with people's lived experiences of suicidal feelings, suicide attempts, self-harm, or bereavement by suicide.  As you probably know, we are developing a strategy to shape this commitment, Suki Westmore (Head of Lived Experience) is working in partnership with three lived experience consultants Anna, Anne Sophie and Raj. You can find out more about them in the Lived Experience Hub on Sam’s Home.

Last year, the team met with staff and volunteers across the organisation, exploring ambitions and gathering feedback on the benefits and challenges of involvement work. We’ve received fantastic levels of engagement and the insights have proved invaluable.

We have developed this short survey, based on all your feedback,  to continue the development of the strategy alongside staff. It also gives those who could not attend a workshop in 2023 a chance to be heard.

Everything shared in this survey is anonymous. The data will be held with Suki Westmore, Head of Lived experience and Raj Hazzard, one of the lived experience consultants. Data will be deleted by the end of October 2024.
