Mid-Western Regional Council is calling for expressions of interest from local businesses located on Church Street, Mudgee and local musicians to be involved in a live music event which will take place on Saturday 17 March 2018 on Church Street, Mudgee from 4pm to 8pm.

The ‘Live and Local’ concept promotes live music in local communities. It brings together venues, local businesses, musicians and the public for an event in their community that creates opportunities for employment and cultural development.

Established live music venues showcase local artists. Retail outlets, cafes and restaurants are transformed into temporary live music spaces. It’s a chance for the public to experience what their local live music scene has to offer while businesses can witness first-hand the impact live music has on their revenue. And for musicians, it’s a well-paid gig that can lead to future opportunities.

What is ‘Live & Local on Church Street’?
The event, which will take place on Saturday 17 March from 4pm to 8pm is being held in conjunction with the Mudgee Food & Drink Trail weekend and is free for the public to attend. There will be no road closures or major infrastructure required and there is an opportunity for your business to be involved.

How can your business get involved?
There is no cost for your business to be involved. For you, it is business as usual. We will work with you to program artists to play live music inside your business or on the footpath in front of your business. All we need is access to power and your enthusiasm to work with us to activate Church Street. Please complete the expression of interest form below.

How can you get involved as a musician or curator?
For more information or to register your interest to be involved in the event, please contact alayna.gleeson@midwestern.nsw.gov.au or call Council on 02 6378 2850.

Expressions of interest from local businesses, artists and curators close on 30 November 2017 and places are limited.
