About the survey

This is a survey to explore the understanding and attitudes of health and social care professionals around two key issues: (1) Tackling health inequalities experienced by members of LGBTQ+ communities; and, (2) Supporting members of LGBTQ+ communities to access services to meet their full range of health and social care needs and concerns.

The aim of the survey is to inform the development of a new project being set up by a partnership between three local organisations: Advonet, CHANGE, and Yorkshire MESMAC; that has two aims:

1) To develop self-advocacy skills and resources for members of LGBTQ+ communities who have experienced additional barriers to accessing health and social care services (due to learning disability, autism, mental ill health, or a combination of these factors);

2) To improve the understanding of health and social care professionals of the issues experienced by members of LGBTQ+ communities in accessing services, and to build strategies to tackle these issues.
