US Sailing Level 1 In Person Survey for LIS Region

The prior four-day US Sailing Level 1 instructor certification courses were converted last year into two sections because of COVID-19: a guided online portion for 10-days is followed by an in-person evaluation for 2-days.

To help US Sailing schedule sufficient in person evaluation courses in the Long Island Sound region this year, the JSA asks your help by responding to these questions about the instructors your junior program has hired for 2021. Please reply ASAP so we can send this timely data to US Sailing. Just one survey response is needed from each junior program, so please coordinate with other leaders at your program who may have received the survey email.

Survey: Please ask your instructors who have one year or less instructing experience to provide their own Level 1 course completion status by answering these questions, and then combine their answers for your program’s survey response.

- If the online course was completed by an instructor candidate in 2020, the in person evaluation course must be completed by June 30 2021. If the online course was or will be completed in 2021, the in person evaluation course must be completed by December 31 2021. See more details on the US Sailing website.
