Right now--before the legislative session starts in January-- is a good time to meet your legislators to ask them
to allow people with disabilities to work
!
Iowans with disabilities who have Medicaid for health insurance are limited in how much they can earn in income (wages). They are also limited in what they can have in assets (savings, house, car, etc.). A bill (called Work Without Worry) has been introduced in the Iowa legislature to get rid of those limits. This bill could have a BIG effect on employment for people with disabilities in Iowa!
YOU can make a BIG difference by joining the BLITZ to reach every Iowa legislator and let them know what this bill means for Iowans with disabilities.
