2026 LCU Fund for Women's Education Emergency Rent Grant Application
Purpose of Funding
LCU Fund emergency rent grants are designed to assist current LCU Scholars who experience an unanticipated expense that impacts their ability to pay their rent. One-time rent grants up to $750 may be available in situations where the financial emergency threatens housing security, impedes academic progress and / or degree completion.
Applicants must be current LCU Scholars, have a verifiable emergency for rent money (i.e., rent statement, overdue notice, etc.), and agree to participate in post-award questionnaires and/or interviews.
These awards are not loans and do not need to be repaid. However, emergency rent grants may be considered taxable income by the IRS.
Applications will be processed within 3 business days of receipt and if approved, funds will be made available within one week and disbursed electronically via Zelle. Applicants may be contacted to provide additional information and documentation of the emergency. Please note that applicants are not guaranteed an emergency rent grant.
The information provided will be used to determine if applicants meet eligibility requirements for funding. In addition, data provided as part of the application will be used, in aggregate, for research purposes. Identifying personal information will not be shared externally.
