You should not attend training if you are ill with a contagious (infectious) condition.  When you get a doctor’s note, you cannot return to training until the date that is written on the cert.

You must report for work in a sober state and not under the influence of any substance.  There are no exceptions made to this.

Personal hygiene and practice is very important in keeping you and any environment safe from illness.

* 3. Health and Safety

It is the objective of Kylemore Community Training Centre staff and management to provide a safe and healthy environment for all persons while they are undergoing training in the centre.

 Learners also have a responsibility to work together with us to keep everyone in the centre safe.  As set out in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act (2005), these are the main points you need to know:

  • take reasonable care for your own safety, health and welfare and that of other persons who may be affected by your acts or lack of safety while undergoing training.
  • protect yourself and others by using any suitable appliance,  protective clothing, equipment or other means for securing your safety, health or welfare.
  • immediately report to a member of staff any faults in equipment or the workplace which may be dangerous to your safety, health or welfare.
  • not intentionally interfere with or misuse any appliance, protective clothing or equipment which is provided for the safety, health or welfare of learners, staff or any other users of the centre
