Introduction

Elmwood Women's Jail Monitoring Program
It is the work of jail monitors to apply a gender-responsive, trauma-informed lens to the programs, services, and experience of justice involved women in Santa Clara County.

It is the policy of this organization to provide equal opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual preference, age, or disability.

The County of Santa Clara Office of Women’s Policy, Commission on the Status of Women, and Office of the Sheriff/Custody Bureau are grateful for our volunteer monitors with our Jail Monitoring Program. You have an important opportunity to ensure services, programs and policies effectively meet the needs of incarcerated women in Santa Clara County. The goal of our efforts is to identify gaps and key issues that will inform and continuously improve management and rehabilitation of justice-involved women during their time in custody.
