Since 1950, the JLC has been empowering women to improve our community through leadership, program development, fundraising, and hands-on service. Our members come from all walks of life, united by a passion for building stronger communities.
For the past 75 years, we’ve proudly partnered with amazing organizations like The Alex, Boys and Girls Club, Brenda's House, Calgary Reads, Children’s Cottage Society, Confluence (Fort Calgary), the Deane House, Elizabeth House, the Glenbow Museum, the Heritage Council, Hospice Calgary, Highbanks, Kids Help Phone, Ronald McDonald House, Sheriff King Home, Volunteer Connector (Volunteer Calgary), and more to provide impactful programming —contributing over 1.7 million volunteer hours and $3.1 million to Calgary’s critical needs.

The JLC Community Grant:
The Junior League of Calgary is offering grants ranging from $500 to $10,000 to one or two partners this year. Our two-phase process is designed to ensure alignment and eligibility with the League’s mission: To advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

The Junior League of Calgary Community Grant follows a two-stage application process:
- Phase 1: Complete this brief survey to confirm eligibility by February 28
- Phase 2: Eligible participants will be invited to submit a full application on February 28 due April 1

Eligibility:
To apply for funding, projects must meet the following criteria:
To apply for funding, projects must meet the following criteria:
- Be a registered non-profit or charitable organization
- Support charitable programs and initiatives that are making an impact in the communities of Calgary
- Preference will be given to projects that align with the JLC Focus Area that support vulnerable persons
- Be a funding request between $500 — $10,000
- Require the recipient to publicly acknowledge the JLC’s support for the initiative (i.e., in social media, newsletter, annual report and any other form of communication they use to communicate both internally and externally)
Projects ineligible for funding include:
- Religious or politically affiliated organizations
- Any sports-related activities
- Marketing sponsorship requests
- Projects located outside of Calgary
- Capital funding requests
- For-profit businesses
- Professional development organizations, industry/trade associations
- Ongoing salaries or overhead
- Ongoing operational expenses
- Fundraising initiatives
- Scholarships or endowments
- Travel expenses for staff of the charity
- Alcohol
